The approach we take to egress plans is to show the square footage of the room, divided by the load factor to get the occupant load, then show the egress path and total up the load at the exit point. I'm trying to think of a way for Revit to total up those occupant loads for me. I am drawing a blank.

It's not possible to have a calcuated value in a tag.

There has been quite a bit of threads regarding this issue, Here are a couple of links from Steve Stafford's blog that give some great examples of what can be done.

In the examples that Miguel referred to there is no method to accumulate the total load. It does however allow you to document the travel distance(s). Looking at your attachment I think the egress family example (of the two links) could be adapted to provide a way to accumulate the loads. It probably would still require some manually data entry but it would help document the information. If I get a chance this weekend I'll experiment a bit with my existing examples.

Couldn't you create a parameter called "Which Exit" and have an occupant load schedule sort by that parameter.

I have done this in the past. It gets complicated when you have multiple escapes and options. I guess it depends on how the fire codes work in your part of the world...

Good point. In California we used to be able to have room occupants use two different exits out the same room. The issue is, how do you know which exit people will run to?
