I know there was a feature added that forces all mtext to be in capital letters.
What about all text? Include dtext?

I want everything I input in AutoCad to be in CAPS.

All of my other programs can go back to lowercase.

Any new solutions in 2009 and/or something I may not think of?

Does the "TCASE" express tool not work for you?

No, because tcase is for making corrections to drawings that have lowercase when
you want uppercase.

I am speaking on terms of text creation, always getting uppercase, regardless if
capslock is on or off.

I agree that this would be extremely helpful. Our company is so paranoid that everything has to be loaded with passwords, which time out often. I get tired of having to switch between stuff & deal with the caps lock every time something times out, or I have to deal with a personal message, or whatever else I have going on.

I also would prefer not having to make sure I select all text every time I need to correct it.

I don't know if you have ever edited a font (.shx) before but way back when I did some of that. I don't even remember how or know if you can still do it though. You could edit the lower casees to be upper cases for the font you use in AutoCAD. May be more work or impossible now because it was YEARS ago that I did that.

I am using the standard font for all my text.
Good point. I could edit the font to create all caps.

Anyone already have this?

AUGI used to have some AutoCAPS code floating around (I think). It would react to text editing commands and insure that CAPS LOCK was set. The disadvantage to the code was that the indicator light would get out of sync.

I have a code which you need to select the text (mtext, dtext or attribute text) to make it caps. Its great in correcting text just layiso it and drag... but the thing is I do not remember what site I had grab it. PM me if you need. I will not post it here.

Autocaps will work for Mtext. I have baisicly quit using Dtext. I used to think it was worth having both types of text because the Dtext was quicker to edit. Now I use Mtext for everything and Autocaps works.

There are some instances where dtext is better.
If I have a list of part numbers, dtext allows me to copy one of them
for use as a label. Mtext would require using the editor.

Yeah, I am considering the other user.
The font would not be present and there would be random acts of no capitalization.
Who created this junk?

I wish there was an autocaps setting for dtext. I think I had seen it on the wishlist before.

I do a lot of wiring labels. Mtext would be as big of a pain as dealing with caps lock.

I have been searching high and lo for AutoCaps. Haven't found anything yet.
I have a couple programs I downloaded that are not worth using. It depends
if I start with capslock on or off. I could end up getting lowercase in AutoCad.

Thanks, works like a charm.

I have found a program called easy caps lock.
It could be used for other programs. It will watch for the *.exe or
the window title.

I wonder if corp would let me load it. They blacklist a bunch of stuff so I'm not allowed to have a lot of software that would be helpful.

I know what you mean. I would hold down the shift key to get
lower case. :screwy:

Hi RobertB,
Any chance of having the AutoCaps.dvb work in 2011? I keep getting a "cannot load application" message. It worked great for me in 2010, so hopefully I'm just doing something wrong with my upgrade to 2011. Any help we be greatly appriciated.

KenIt's a VBA add-on. Since 2009 ACad comes standard without VBA. You need to download & install this from ADesk. http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/item?siteID=123112&id=12715668&linkID=9240618

FYI -- If you're running a 64bit version of 2011 in a 64bit OS -- running any VBA app in Acad will slow the entire system down drastically

ahh yes. I forgot about needing the VBA enabler. Thanks for the help.
