Is there any way to make different "categories" of Line Styles? Not Subcategories, but more general categories that lines could be grouped under. For instance, we would like to make a grouping of lines that are for existing items. We have made several subcategories called "Existing-1", "Existing-2", "Existing-3", etc. - but is there a way to group these subcategories under one heading, or category, called "Existing"? It doesn't look like Revit allows this, but if that's the case then why when you go to the "Line Style" dialog box and click on "New" under "Subcategories" there is a pull-down for options under "Subcategories of"? That leads me to believe that there might be other options there. Any thoughts?

As far as I know, that's the way it is and you can't change that...

I believe Andre is right. CanĀ“t change it.
But If you only want the main categories for existing purposes, then model lines can be grouped assigned to phases, ie. existing phase..... then your have "existing" and "new" model lines "grouped" that way.
