I have a project where we are doing a Tenant Improvement. There are existing CMU walls and we are building new gypsum board walls against them. Typically we show everything existing as screened. This is where we run into issues. We have modeled the wall in Revit as one Wall so that windows, doors, etc. cut through the entire wall assembly. Is there a way to screen only certain parts of a wall? I am assuming if there isn't a way to do that we would have to draw the two walls separately and make the window or door cut one and insert an opening in the other and just make sure they are lined up with the window or door? Any help is appreciated.

Hi Greg.
You need to make seperate walls, but it´s rather easy to make the windows and doors cut both / or all 3 wall instances. Once you´ve created the door etc. just use the "Cut Geometry" tool, pick the wall that needs to be cut, and then pick the door.
The wall instances have to parallel though.....

Just to let you know, when you draw two different walls beside each other and join them using the Join Geometry tool, inserting a window in one wall will createthe opening on both.
