Can I, or even how do I, produce an accurate and functional Timber Frame model with Revit Architecture 2009?

Timber frame is pretty easy. You may need to make some structural families that don't exist. Do you have a sketch of what you are trying to make?

Ya, I've got sketches and cad drawings. I'm new to the Revit Scene, generaly I use a Timber Framing software called CadWork to create my models, now I'm strugling to accuratly manipulate a stick of lumber.

any suggestions?

Yeah, I know people love this stuff, these plug-ins...its a "market opportunity", but I hate it.
I hate the idea of re-establishing the AutoCAD and ArchiCAD plug-in market for Revit. Its a simple way for the manufacturer to not develop stuff and a way for them to provide "partnering" which is a cozy little snuggle to others to make cash , adding perceived value to the product which really, I feel is the rightful place of the manufacturer/ ing / developer of this awesome product - to take pride in developing any of the natural developments and increasing the market share and bottom line for company shareholders, by doing making an ever better product, rather than a mousetrap.
We get rail roaded again. Bummer.
(sorry for the negs, but it has to be said.)
