Slow creation of DWFs

Is it normal for DWF creation to take 10 times longer then PDF to be created from AutoCAD?

I have been really excited by some of the features of DWFs, but I am quickly getting discouraged by different issues… this is another one… to through a wrench into the idea of using them…

I am using the Publish command with an imported setup publishing to the “DWF6 ePlot by Autodesk” pc3 Plotter… ver. 1.1-9.0.54.0 (z019-1) (Driver: dwfplot9.hdi)
And AutoCAD ver 2007 Architectural Desktop

What I noticed is when there are wipeouts used in the drawing the DWF creation takes very long. Also the opening of the DWF in Design Review takes sometimes 10 minutes to open. When I take the wipeouts out. The DWF is made in few seconds and opening in Design Review takes also few seconds. I have driver Autodesk ePlot (DWF) DWF6 ePlot dwfplot9.hdi Version 1.1-9.1.219.0
I'm curious if other people don't have problems with wipeouts and DWF. And if not.. what version driver they use.

I solved my problem. The resolution of the images in the dwf's was to high in the pc3 file.

I have had slow dwf publishing in 2008. Seems to be ok in 2009.
You have 2 really good suggestions. I didn't think to pay attention to the resolution and check what I have drawn on the page that hangs up.
