Shared Parameter Display ?

We are needing to create a custom beam tag, one that references a custom parameter that we created. So I created a shared parameter loaded it in the tag, loaded it in the project, and everything seemed to work. The problem is that this parameter doesn't occur on all the elements, and for the elements that we don't have anything filled out it displays a "?" mark. This doesn't happen for the parameters that are already part of the beam tag, stud count, camber, and I don't remember this being a problem before I have created custom labels and when there was no info in the parameter it didn't display anything.

Is the parameter a text parameter? It should show the question mark only if you select the tag. Therefore it won't print.

Yes the parameter is a text parameter, but it still shows the and prints the questions mark.

Make sure that your labels are all one label (in 2009). So in the edit label dialog there multiple labels and play with the break setting.
