I want to mirror 2 rooms within a house, complete with all of their components. Can I do this as a design option? It doesn't seem to work for me.

Yes, you can do that. Create two option (normal and mirrored). Add both rooms to both options. Then edit only the mirrored one and do the mirror there. Very simple.

Ok I got the original option and the mirrored option that shows the mirrored elements overlayed on the original, but how do I make it display and print only the mirrored version?

Open the mirrored option and delete the original elements.

In other words, one option will have the original elements as part of it's option, and the mirrored option will only have the mirrored element.s

I tried that but the only way I can select the elements to delete is to uncheck the active option only box and then it deletes it from the original view also.

Also, duplicate your views and set one to show the option 1 (not mirrored) and the other option 2 (mirrored). You can find this under view properties > Show in design option.

The those elements aren't part of a design option... You should have two: One contain the elements exactly as they are and the other is a mirrored version of it.

I'm missing something here, on my mirrored option I can't delete the original elements without unchecking the active only box and then it deletes them in both options.

OK, let's try it again. See the attached images as an example of how it works:

Image 1: The model as it is. No option set yet.
Image 2: Creating option 1 and option 2 sets. Nothing added to any option yet.
Image 3: Selecting all the walls that will be different on both options and adding them to both options.
Image 4: Editing option 1. The drawing stays as it is.
Image 5: Editing option 2. Mirroring the walls.
Image 6: The final result for option 2 is shown. Note that the view now is set to show option 2. If I want to go back to option 1, I can duplicate that view and set it as option 1. It will show the project back as it was before starting all this.

I hope it helps,

Couldn't upload image 6, so here it goes.

I'm with you until I get to image 5 and then everything is grayed out on the plan and the only way I can select anything is to uncheck the active option only box and then that also mirrors the image 4?

Andre,

There were some things that just were not sinking in for me but I kept working at it and finally got it figured out. I very much appreciate your help and your patience.
