View Full Version : How to turn off surface patterns in Views
I imagined this would be simple, but so far I cannot find a way of temporarily turning off the display of model surface patterns in Views, other than zooming out far enough so that they disappear.
Is this possible in Revit would anyone know?

Many thanks... I knew it was somewhere really obvious - it's taken me weeks to admit I couldn't find it ;)

Thanks - could you explain a bit more about filters in this context please?

You can create a filter based on some parameter that you add to a category of object, or by a workset. Once that filter is put into a view, and it selects walls for example, you can tell the filter that surface patterns are not visible. I have used them to select floors (1/8" thick) representing finishes, and that have patterns on them, to actually hide them in the architectural views. Then the extra lines between finishes would not be visible.
