Legend question

I just created a legend in my project, but when I insert it in my sheet the detail number does not appear. I have in the same sheet my floor plan with detail 1 (it shows), so it is the same view title family.

Any thoughts?

Check if you haven't accidentally dragged the view title far away from the viewport. The thing is that if the title is dragged away from the viewport and you try to zoom extents, it won't show where the title is. You will have to select the viewport and zoom out all the way to be able to see its blue dots. Then just drag to the original position

No, it is not that. I thought it was some problem in my view title family, so I just recreated the same situation in a new project with the revit default families, and it happen the same thing: I created a simple legend and when I dragged to a new sheet, the detail number does not show up.

Legends cannot have detail numbers (drawing numbers). they took it away in 2008 or 9.1, and it hasnt come back. I THINK the reason is that you can put legends on multiple sheets, and if they give you a detail number you may *reference other view,* but thats just my own personal SWAG...

I shouldn't read so fast the posts. I thought your issue was that you couldn't find the legend's view title... But now I understood what the actual issue is, I can tell you that Aaron is right about it.
