Masking Regions and Detail lines not drawn in View!!

It escapes me how I am unable to draw detail lines and masking regions in only some elevations...

If I create a new elevation marker in plan I have no problems. I would hate undoing all the work and deleting the view on the sheet and having to place a new one. Any reasoning behind this?

For good search hits I have posted the messages I encounter below:

Detail Lines:

Can't draw because Work Plane is at a very sharp angle in this view. Go to another view or redefine the Work Plane.

Masking Region:

In order to edit the sketch, please open one of the following views where the sketch will be parallel to the screen

Hi. What I have found in these instances is the elevation symbol has been rotated ever so slightly. If is is not normal (perpendicular) to the walls and items it is viewing, you will get this message. Typically this occurs because something other then a wall is used for alignment purposes (piece of furniture, fixture, etc.).

I was not able to get either of these options to work, the elevation although could have been rotated does not appear to be. I have tried rotating it to a degree value higher than 1 and rotating it about a new reference line as indicated.

For others out there with this problem, I would advise saving yourself time and just recreate the elevation and be certain when creating elevations at first to test and see if you are able to draw detail lines and masking regions.
