View Full Version : Lining up Struct model with Arch model.
Hi,
What steps should I follow to be sure that my struct model is in the exact same location as the arch model?
The problem I have is when I link the arch model, the coordinates are the same but the elevation is not correct. For example the elevation of Level 1 in the Arch model is say 24000mm but my Struct Level 1 is only 1260mm.
How do I adjust my Z value to match the Arch’s?
Thanks

Firstly you want to set shared co-ordinates, publish from one and import to the other, then you can "move project" to get them to the same alignment.

when you link the arch model use origin to origin (I'm not sure if that solves the "Z" elvation problem)

go to an elevation view
under tools>shared coordinates>specify coordiantes at point click on yoru structural 1 level of 1260 mm. a box will pop up, type in the 24000mm into the elevation box. You will noticed the elevations didnt update... you will need to click on the elvation symbol (or level symbol) go to the element properites>edit new - under the elevation base change it from project to shared. You will have to do something similar to this for all spot elevations
next time just import Origin-to-Origin to begin with :)
Thanks,
R Butler I followed your steps but I still have a discrepancy (238mm) between my levels and the linked in Arch model. Now when I go to "Specify Coordinate at Point" and select my level, the "pre-printed" value in the elevation box is the same as the Arch's Level but my level shown on the drawing/model is not correct ie it is not matching the value in "Specify Coordinate at Point" or the Arch's Level.
Thanks
