I know one can create shapes from family types in the library and use the free aisc data to faciltate this process.
However, I wonder if Autodesk or someone else has all of the old historic AISC shape information alread developed so that existing buildings may be more easily modelled?
Just looking for a freebie that I may not have been aware of.

It is my understanding that most of these families are already provided with the standard install or possible even as additional downloadable content through Autodesk.
For example on some existing projects I am currently working on the columns and beams were specified as I-beams. If my information is correct then these sizes were used around the 1910-1940's era. The OOTB family was called S-American Standard.rfa.
The Revit catalog agreed with the information I found in the AISC iron and steel beams manual 1873-1952 pub. No. M003 (CC799)

If you're talking of old W shapes that are no longer available for example, you can just duplicate an existing type and fill in the data. To make sure it's available for your next project, add it to the type catalog (the txt file that has the same name as your family) and make sure to save a copy so it doesn't get overwritten when you get a new version of Revit installed.
