Is it possible to create a shortcut for toggling on and off specific objects / annotations? I turn off ref planes in my view templates, but I often turn them on and off for working out various things. It is a small hassle to have to go to the visibility graphics dialogue box each time. Other than creating a view template for the various "working" conditions, is there a way to quickly turn them on/off - Like a keyboard shortcut?

thanks.

you can select the element, ie: ref. planes, and hit EH, VH or HH
EH hides the element
VH hides the catagory
HH is the temporary hide

Right, but you cant bring them back the same way, which would really be handy for things like he described, lol...

There actually is a keyboard shortcut for turning selected objects back ON via EU (Unhide Element) or VU (Unhide Category). But the extra step requires you to select the Reveal Hidden Elements command from the View Control bar at the bottom of the view in order to see the hidden elements. Then you have to select the Exit Reveal Hidden Elements command to exit that mode.

Hope this helps,

I do it the way Mark said, using category hide and unhide.

Generally selecting the view hidden elements doesn't add too much time, although I agree that an actual toggle for one or two selection sets would be a great tool.

Simply use HC and HR.

HC temporarily hides the category (like HH, but for that whole category instead of individual objects). So when you select a reference plane and hit HC, all reference planes temporarily go away, and you get the blue outline around the view to indicate that objects are temporarily hidden.

HR resets temporary hidden/isolated objects. So that will bring the reference planes back without the extra steps of hitting the light bulb, selecting the hidden reference plane, and unhiding in that view.
