I've got a three foot high bookcase family in my project. I made a callout of the case and tried lowering the cut plane. No matter the height it still shows the top of the bookcase. I've got a column that appears the same way. Any ideas?

Chris:
Some families are cuttable, others are not. Furniture is not cuttable, so if your casework family is set to furniture, it won't cut. Go into the family, under Settings (I think) and change the family to casework.
With the column, columns have a switch (same location when editing the family) to cut or not. Try those.

Structural columns, even if they are cuttable, also act differently. See my post about it in the following thread:
http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=80710
Structural columns have the option Show pre cut in plan views (under Settings > Family Categories and parameters) that will make the family show in the project the way its view range is set in the family, even if your cut in plan is higher or lower in the project. I think this is set like that to avoid Revit calculating the cut representation for columns in plan to every single column...
I hope it helps,

Try this:
Go into the Family Editor and set the View Depth plane there....the Load into Project....
See if that helps.....
We had come across this, and found that we had to adjust the cut plane.
