I'm trying to create a Pier Footing that is made of CMU blocks. I've found the blocks easily enough in the Masonry Family, however I cannot seem to find them, to place them, in the Component lists once I've loaded them into the file...??

something I'm missing??

I suspect the CMU blocks you found were Detail Components, since we dont place blocks individually in Revit. Model the full size of the Pier, out to out, then assign a material to it that is the right size CMU. It will surface pattern the exterior of the block and add a cut pattern.

No need to model it as individual blocks. If you want to do that, just make a block family. (But you dont want to...)

What do you mean by Masonry family? Not all families, once loaded into the project, will show in the Component list. You have to edit your family, go to Settings > Family category and parameters> and see what the family is.

Knowing that, you can go to your project browser (back in your project), look for (+)Families and browse to the your family type. Just drag it from there and drop in the screen.

If you're looking to build a Pier made of concrete block you will need to build the family. Note that in this case you ain't building all blocks but using a pattern as surface/cut.
