Does anyone if doing a selection window is possible in Revit. We have some new users getting into Revit now, and since window selection is possible and used alot in AutoCAD, people seem to be having a problem letting go of that feature. I have not seen that shown anywhere in Revit, but if someone knows, please let me know. Thanks.

Of course you can do that. Just press, the left button, hold and drag the mouse and you will see the selection window. Like in AutoCAD, the window from left to right select elements that are entirely included into the window. Selecting by opening the window from right to left will select all elements included and/or crossing the edges of the selection window.

What do you mean window selection? All standard "sweeipng window" rules apply:
Hold down the cursor button while sweeping: If youre going right to left, everything you TOUCH adds to the selection set.
If youre going left to right, everything you SURROUND goes in the selection set.
Holding down shift deselects in the same fashion...

Be aware that elements within your PRIMARY VIEW RANGE will be selected by a window but elements outside of it needs to be selected individually (or by using CTRL)

The problem with doing this is that if you have an underlay or if you are in a sheet view when you pick the first corner of your window you will end up selecting something and therefore the windowing doesn't work. You could alway hide the underlay or even the sheet view but that may well defeat the purpose as you may need the reference and it also adds the extra steps to doing somthing that should be so simple.
Maybe I'm missing something.

As per my rule explications overlay elements wont be selected... unless they are in the primary range.

The same problem happens when you have images and you try and select a window.

Try unchecking the option to "press and drag". It may solve your problem of selecting elements when trying to open the selection window.
