Hi everyone.
We are currently working on a rather large campus project the consists of the several individal buildings. The project is in it's conceptual phase and have have already created the master plan for the entire campus in one revit central file. The campus masterplan consists of 3 phases (not that this important in the post). For speed and simplicity, we initially have placed massing elements inside the masterplan to represent the campus buildings over the 3 phases.
Additionally, a few of our architects have already started modeling one of the phase 1 buildings inside the masterplan central file. They started to model this building in a seperate design option off to the side of the campus site plan and not where the building needs to be realtive to the masterplan.
I want to be able to manage the master plan file as itself and not have any building models being designed inside it. I also want to remove the "phase 1" building that the architects have already started and put it into it's own central file and relink it back into the masterplan central file.
One importnat question I have intially is concerning the phase I building that has already been started. Once I get it into its own central file, proabably by doing a save-as of the masterplan central file and stripping everything out of it except for the phase 1 building data. DO I HAVE TO PHYSICALLY MOVE IT TO THE CORRECT LOCATION RELATIVE TO THE MASTER PLAN? Or can I just link it back to the maasterplan central file and move it into the correct position.
Again, I will have more buildings with their own central file as time passes to link them into the masterplan. Do I need to concern myself with shared coordinates?
