Can someone tell me how to create a shared parameter for a room name in window and door schedules that will automatically list the room that the door or window is inserted in.

This cannot be done without custom programing via the API. Look into Avaetech's free plugins. They do this with the doors. You could probably contact them for doing a routine for the windows. This currently is not directly doable because Autodesk has not exposed those portions to us. For windows it is extremely problematic, since a window could be taller that a flr to flr and potentially span two rooms.
