Switchback

I am currently leading a coordination effort with trade contractors and I was wondering if Switchback worked across a network. I am thinking this is not possible. We have two contractors who use AutoCAD MEP, another using HydroCAD and I created the Architectural in Revit. I am guessing from my knowledge of the switchback that I would have to have all the models and software packages on one computer.

Has anyone done anything like this?
