View Full Version : custom elevation tag

I'd like to create two custom elevation tags - One target filled with two lines running through it at 45 deg and one target with no fill. I need to use them on plan views for spot elevations, but I also want parametric ones not connected to the model for detail views ... I'm training myself Revit and family creation is the hardest! I'm sure once I get the hang of Revit it will be as easy, but for now I'm still confused.

Can anyone help???

If I understood you wan to modify the spot elevation annotations. To do that, go to the project browser > (+) Families > (+) Annotation Symbols > (+) Spot Elevations > Right click > Edit > Do the modifications you want > Save As > Give it a new name > Load back to the project > Add a new Spot Elevation > Select it > Properties > Edit/New... > Duplicate > Give it a new name > change the symbol to be the one you loaded.

That's exactly what I've been attempting ... only I get an error "None of the created elements are visible in Drawing Sheet: - View. You may want to check the active view, its Parameters, and Visibility settings." Can't seem to figure out how to view. Been to VG, but am just not getting it ... Help???

And you did get that message when inserting the spot elevation? In a drawing sheet? Have you checked the visibility graphics overrides > Annotations > Spot Elevations ?

I was in the tag when I got the message ... your advice helped! I had to check 'show annotation ... ' etc.
Thanks much!!
