Dimensions are annotation, which in Revit is view specific, meaning it will only appear in the view you place it in. Read up on Dependant views, as this can show annotation across the Dependant views.

You can copy/paste aligned annotation elements from view to view. As long as the elements being referenced are visible in both views the dimensions should copy. You can paste into multiple views at once as well.

If you have a building divided up into several plan areas (hopefully using dependent views), you can't show an overall dimension in one view that stretches all the way to the other end in another view. You'll need a smaller-scale drawing showing the entire building with your overall dimensions.
