Hey, so I am putting in light fixtures in my electrical plan and some of the fixtures that are on sloped ceilings dont show their symobilc lines on the electrical plan. I can see them in 3d and they are there they just dont show up on the plan view. I would assume that because it is trying to put the symbolic lines perpendicular to the ceiling/fixture. Is there a way to get the symbolic lines to show up on the plan?

Playing with the view range won't solve the problem. You will have to use model lines instead. And you are right: the cause of the problem is that your symbolic lines aren't showing because they aren't parallel to the view.

If you add your model lines, let's say, in the base of your light fixture and your light fixture is hosted by a sloped ceiling, then the model lines will also be sloped... I don't think it worth and I never did that, but maybe you could try align the symbolic lines to a reference line (not reference plane) and add an angle parameter (this would correct the difference between the ceiling angle and the view). You will also have to change their visibility to only show in plan views, because they are model lines and would show in other views as well (like sections)...

You can also be sneaky and set the family to always be vertical. This would force the symbolic lines to be in plane with the RCP and FP. If you're still wanting the light to model parallel to the ceiling, you could get even trickier and try building the fixture with an angular parameter so you could rotate it independently of the ceiling. Best of both worlds? Maybe. PITA? Totally. Though, if you make the fixture as a non-hosted workplane based light fixture and then nest it into the hosted ceiling family with a reference line as the workplan and then make that reference line rotate, it would be much simpler...
