Take a coplanar vertical pipe and a horizontal pipe. Trim-corner them, picking the vertical pipe first. Replace the elbow with this family (P-Trap - PVC (elbow).rfa) and there you have it.

Awesome and thanks.
I was able to click on the + and - of the fitting to eventually get the P-trap oriented correctly if the riser line was selected last using the trim command. The trap first is incorrect, then changes to a tee, then an elbow, then I reselect the P-trap.
Doing this, rather than delete and reinserting keeps the system connected.

have you experimented with a "plan view" version of this?
