My office is having a competition to design a Gingerbread house in Revit. I really want to make everything look like candy and I'm trying to figure out how to make a candy cane with the red and white swirls to use as exterior porch columns. Anyone have any great ideas? If any one is suggesting Sweep blends please be specific because this was my first attempt and it was too hard to figure out.

A simple stripe pattern at a 45-deg. angle might work. Try it and see.

For the render material, you could find an image (or make one) and just turn it 45 degrees if it's not already.

How fun... are you going to post some of the final images on AUGI?

This sounds very Martha Stewart-like. It's a good thing.

I will post the finals and I'll encourage others to do so as well. I've already modeled M&M's and Gingerbread cookie trees. It's a lot of fun. To answer my own question about the candy cane...it's done with a sweep and a image map
