How Do I draw a non verticle wall? I am trying to draw a sloped wall to meet a wall that I added an angle to in profile. I think it is doable massing tools then make walls from face. But I ahve not figured out the massing tools yet. Can someone give a consise explanation of what I need to do?

Welcome to the forums!
Just create a Mass by going to the Massing menu > Create Mass > give it a name. You'll create a mass with the same shape/slope of the wall you want. That's is crucial to know the best way to create it (by creating an extrusion in plan and later extracting the slope with a void, maybe creating the sloped shape already in elevation...). Once you define that and create the mass, finish the mass element and go to Wall by face. Go to a 3D view where you can see your mass to have a better view of the face you will pick. Just pick the face and the wall will be there. If you ever need to control the wall slope again, just change the mass, select the wall and click Recreate.

Under Massing on the Side tool bar select Create Mass then follow these steps...
1. Name the object then hit OK
2. After doing so, it puts you into a different side tool bar.. Go to Solid Form>Solid Extrusion.
3. Now you're in Sketch mode. Draw the side profile of the wall and on the options bar on the top you will see Depth. Depth is how much you want to extrude the wall.
4. Finish Sketch > Finish Mass
5. Now select Wall by Face and select the face of the mass you just create...
Hope that helps...

You are on the right track.
1. Using Massing Tools, Create a New Mass.
Open up the Mass Family Template.
a. Make a Solid Blend that has the desired slope of the wall
you need in the project. In Plan View , sketch the Base, then the Top.
Go to and elevation view to check the angled / sloped shape.
Edit the Blend Base and Top to get correct shape/dimensions.
2. Save the Mass Family (to desired location--in your Project folder).
3. Open the Project, and go to File>Load from Library>and browse to the Mass Family you created.
4. Make sure Mass is turned on in the Visibility Model Category setting of your views.
There is also a cyan cube in the upper middle part of the screen next to Zoom Tools which controls mass on/off.
5. Using the Massing Tools, select the sloped face of the Mass and Convert Face to Wall.
This seems a bit tedious at first, but once you get used to doing this technique you can learn to quickly model quite complex shapes, and then "reverse engineer" them into Revit objects.
Tip: DO NOT delete the Mass, as the walls/roofs/floors stay "linked" to the Mass.
You can edit the Mass shape, and then "re-create" the walls, roofs, floors, etc.
You can turn the Mass on or off in each view with the two settings mentioned above.
There you have it!!
(This process is referred to as the "Building Maker" in Revit terminology.)

I can't seem to get the mass to make the slope of the wall.

create the mass profile in an elevation/section on the angle you need. then control the depth in plan

Ok, now I have a sloped wall but the void I creates was not the same as the slope in profile. Can I chang this by editing or do I have to start over?

I haven't tried section but I can not draw antyhing in elevation.

You can edit the void to correct its placement...select the void then hit edit on the options bar...

Try using the Solid Blend--it's a bit easier than cutting a solid with a void.

or set a ref plane in plan view > name the ref plane > and set your work plane from the one you created. then you should be able to draw in section/elevation.

Thanks, that did it. Thanks for the help.

This thread was a big help, thanks to all who contributed. It just helped us create some walls in a lobby we are working on.
