I am trying to find software that will work for me. I would like to do architrual renderings. 3ds max seems to do more then render. Can 3ds max be good for arch renderings? Or want other software is there that can be good to use. I would also like to do, like, furniture, maybe some cars. need help

There are a few other software companies out there that provide 3D capabilities for Arch Viz projects (Rhino, FormZ, etc), but there are only a few companies out there that really specialize in those. 3ds Max is the most widely used software for Arch Viz. Check out the galleries at CG Architect or VisMaster and read the "software used" line.
You will also see listed VRay, Mental Ray, Maxwell Render, etc. Those are industry typical renderers that give the rendering the realistic qualities. Mental Ray is built in to 3ds Max, so no additional expense with that one...
Hope that helps.:)

Here's an example we did using Revit for modeling and 3dsMax for rendering
Cheers.....
