joining walls

i drew a furring wall against an existing wall. when i place a window it doesn't cut thro' both walls. how do i join both walls so placing a window will show up as a window will in the 'normal' wall.

Both walls must be touching. If so, use the join tool (in the toolbar) to join the two walls. Once joined, any openings will cut both walls.

Anyone noticed that you can't dimension the common edge between two joined walls? I just came across that in two files of ours, and am testing to see if it is a bug or not. Sure as heck shouldn't be the way it seems to be. Real PITA for dimensioning...

What if you first add the dimension and then later join both walls?
