Hello All,

I'm having difficulty with controlling the cut pattern of structural columns, when it comes to Project Phasing.

Please see the attached photos. Here are the known conditions:

Family and Material
• Both the square columns and round columns are definitely structural columns (not architectural columns).

• In the component family editor, both component families have the material parameter properly associated with the extrusion geometry.

• The material for both columns is defined with a solid pink cut pattern.

Phase
• Both columns were created in the previous phase (Core and Shell). The view is set to a later phase(Interiors).

• The Phase filter is so existing cut pattern is solid gray.

Here is the question... For structural columns (or I suppose all component families), when does the phase filter control appearance, and when does the material?

In the attached image, it appears that both are working, for different situations.

Thanks in advance.

Bryan

Actually the phase filter uses a material override on an object based on its phasing. Look at the Graphic Overrides tab in the Phasing (Settings > Phases) and you will see.
