Phases and Model Lines

I am setting up phases on a project and I have noticed that when I change a Model Line to Phase Existing it does not disappear like the rest of the model, it only turns gray or half toned. My view is in Phase New Construction and the model line is in Phase Existing, It should disappear, right?

Am I missing a setting? I have looked everywhere.

Just above the setting for your view phase is the phase filter. If it is set to show all, the elements set to existing won't disappear. They will only turn gray. Try playing with your phase filters.
