Hi,
I have an autocad dwg file with some circles drawn
centred on gridlines.
The units of the autocad file is in Metres and the horizontal grid
is at a very small angle difference with the world x-axis.

Don't know why, when imported into Revit, all circles which
is absolutely centred on gridlines are now all shifted approx. 4mm.

Is the error comes from Revit limitation or I have to do something
to modify my autocad file ?

Any help is appreciated.
Fung

Check your Import Units. I've learned not to rely Auto Detect.

Check how far the geometry is from the 0,0 in AutoCAD.

thanks for all replies.
I have adjusted manually the import units to Metres
to cater for the acad file ,
and all entities are very near to 0,0 so that
origin to origin is work, no warning msg of shifting to
centre to centre pops up.

Any more ideas ?

This is a known problem with Revit. Lines that are slightly off horizontal or vertical will be "straightened" by Revit during the dwg import, without any notification to you! Unfortunately, the factory thinks this is "correct" behaviour. Beware if you ever import a dwg site!!!

Thanks for your answer, Michael.

So I need to apply some tricks to sort it out.
Headache !

This behavior is flawed in my opinion. You should have the option to disengage this behavior. This is why I am stuck at work at 10:18 at night. Thanks.
