Preface: I've already got several workarounds for this problem, this is more of a "Revit Logic" question.
For our interior elevation view template, we have Furniture turned off. However, in a couple of the elevations there is a special piece of furniture we would like turned on. I already knew from other special cases that you can Override>By Element>Visibility OFF, so I thought this would be easily handled by going in the reverse direction.
Of course not.
Why can't Revit Override>By Element>Visibility ON when the category is turned off?
