I have a problem where i have a project where I'm documenting the assembly of an item which is spread over 2-3 sheets. I would like the same sheet number/drawing number but have different sheet count.

For example
drawing number (using the default sheet Number label) - JR-05
sheet No. (using a shared parameter) - 1 OF 3 etc...

My issue is Revit does not allow me to allocate JR-05 to more than one page. Is there a way around this????? Or what is the general Best Practice here???

There isnt a way around it, without using multiple files (huge waste). So youll have to do something like number the sheets "JR-05 1" and then you can edit the label of the parameter in the titleblock such that it wraps at the space, so the 1 is on the next line. Thats as good as it gets for what youre trying to do though.

Just get used to having them be different sheet numbers...

yes, either do like Aaron said or as I have seen and documented assemblies before it would be listed as...
JR-05.1
JR-05.2
etc as long as you are sticking to the same assembly
