My list of views is incredibly long....and the callout - reference other view - placement process is tedious to say the least. Is there a way to shorten my list in the pull-down menu once I tell a tag to reference another view? For example: is there a way to type the name, or detail and sheet number; or a way to apply a filter to the list?

thanks.

Nope, no way to do that, that I know of anyway. People have been wishing for awhile for different types of listing, like having the detail number listed first or something.like that.

Although you can't directly filter the list or point straight to a specific detail you might be able adapt some of the tricks for browser organization from the following link to ease your process.

There could be lots of better ways than the long list we have now....

Right Click > Create Reference from the view browser.
Place and type in a valid reference. (You have a half size set sitting on your desk anyway.)
Drag view from browser to current view to place.
iPod/Vista like interface to flip 3d through sheets and then pick detail off drawing set. (Would be ultra cool.)
Amazon Windowshop (http://www.windowshop.com) interface to select detail.

I think I like the Right Click > Create Reference idea the best. Although, how would it know if you wanted a section annotation, or callout, or elevation, etc.?

The 3D sheet flipping idea, while cool, I could see that slowing down a few systems. :p

A simple flyout or pop up.
