Specify a view template as default for NEW views?

Is there a way to set up certain view templates to automatically be used when new views are created? For example, when a new floor plan is created, have the Architectural Floor Plan template automatically applied instead of having to apply it after it is created? Or an elevation template for all new Elevation views?
