Hi, I have a laptop with Windows Vista (Sp1) and I can not delete, edit, rename, some file .RVT, especially backup. If I try to delete compare the message "Recycling" and nothing happens . I tried to cancel through dos but you can not.

The only way to delete files this is:
1) boot in Safe Mode, but only by folder and not from the trash.
2) to clear the trash have to start windows normally.

These files are in the internal and external HD.

I hope for aid

This used to happen to me quite often, but it hasn't happed for some time now... I wonder if its because I turned off Vista's UAC:

If you turn off UAC, your computer will be less secure... but also less annoying.

Sometimes, I would have to do what you describe to delete the files, and sometimes that wouldn't work. Here are some other tips to try:

Disable the Windows Search service, and then try to delete the files.
Go to Windows Explorer > Tools > Folder Options > View tab and activate "Always show icons, never thumbnails". Then try to delete the files.
Try to take ownership of the files, and then try to delete them: http://www.mydigitallife.info/2007/05/25/delete-undeletable-files-in-windows-vista/
Try the Unlocker application: http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/

Try the Unlocker application: http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/

Just as a note, Unlocker works great, but only if your Windows is 32 bits.

Thank you! I tried with Unlocker and works...other methods did not produce.
If I find an alternative solution, I will tell you.
