It seems if you have a floor slab drawn under a toposurface and try to put a spot elevation on the toposurface, it gives you the elevation of the floor slab below.
In order to put a spot elevation on the toposurface, you have to change the view to wireframe and then when you place a spot elevation it will give you the toposurface elevation height.
This also works in reverse. If the floor is above the toposurface, it will give you the elevation height of the floor, and if you switch to wireframe, it will give you the toposurface under the slab.
Does anyone really understand this? I always thought when you ask for a spot elevation it will give you back the data on the highest element at that point. This seems to be consistent with Revit 2009 and 2008.
