I thought that the ground was infinitely deep

I am working on creating a tutorial on a residential project and my site is behaving strangely. I put in a flat site so that I could demonstrate placing a pad and my ground hatch pattern in section only extends down to the top of footing. Why wouldn't the ground hatch extend down to the bottom of my crop region?

You can change the elevation of the poche base via Settings > Site Settings... Section Graphics.
