linked revit file missing from export

Hello,
the linked files from my revit model are missing in my .nwc file. i created the .nwc file via the
Tools>External Tools>Navisworks 2009 operation.
is this by design or am i not understanding something?

Naviswork Manage 2009.1 (build 6.1.46140)

Linked Revit files do not export with the NWC export in Revit. You need to export them individually, then append them in NavisWorks.
