I think that the answer to this is going to be "copy the roof, paste it in as a new one in a later phase and change the properties", but here goes:
Part of a house renovation is major roof modifications. We're going to be building valley sets on top of the old roof and sheathing to fill in or build up parts. I think that this is pretty straight forward.
Plumb to Square fascia. In reality we'll likely be pulling off the fascia and cutting the joist tails sqaure. In Revit, this means creating a whole separate roof for the later phase - right?
This goes for roofs and walls too: If I demolish the roof, and remake a duplicate with the new properties in a later phase, how do I prevent the roof from showing on the drawings as demolished? do I make multiple demo phases and one does not show up on the sheets? ...just came up with that. Maybe I'll try it. I'm sure this is all old hat for you guys.
