I have applied a number of custom copes using ref planes which are all at different angles for a timber structure I'm modeling. Everything works and looks ok in a 3D view, but when I cut an orthogonal section, the part of the member that was cut off appears, as well as the cut line. This happens whether the member is isolated in the view or not. Please help, I am nearing a tender submission for this project!

One thing to add is that this problem only occurs with members that have a cross-section rotation applied (about 90% of my structure) Unrotated members work perfectly.

Did you use the cope tool? It's my understanding that the more skewed a member is, the more problems the coping tool has with getting all the views correct. A class I took at AU last week (have to give credit where credit is due) recomended using the "Opening by Face" tool to cope beams that are at a funny angle. The coping should show through in all the sections and 3D views.

I didn't use the cope tool as I needed to force a particular cut on the end of the member. I defined a ref plane and used that to cut the end of the member. I don't think Opening by Face will work here since I am not working perpendicular to the member.
