apply command does not apply in "edit rail"

noticed in the "EDIT RAIL" menu that after adding a component like another rail then selecting the apply command button there is no update but if it closed with "OK" and then do "APPLY" in "TYPE PROPERTIES" it does update... not a big thing but be nice when we make small changes to see right away the result... basically i have a very low opinion of Revits menu hiearchy...
