View Full Version : Exporting to dwg dimension text bug?

When I export a Revit file to dwg, the dimension text defaults to txt.shx. If I export to dxf the text looks correct (arial) but if I save the drawing then open it again, the text is now back to txt.shx. How can I force Revit or Autocad to maintain the correct dimension text setting? There are so few controls in Revit for exporting to dwg. Honestly I get much better dwg files from Vectorworks (with more control over the output). This problem really messes up the drawing and I do not want to have to go into every drawing and reset the font. It never resets correctly anyway.

I sent this problem to support and have been told that this is a known problem with no fix or workaround.

Yep, unfortunately it is. We used to batch-rename & save-as our AutoCAD exports after exporting them from Revit, we discussed adding a script in AutoCAD once to deal with font issues wholesale in the document, we were already addressing lineweights, file version, layering and a few other nitpicky client demands. One solution to a known problem, unfortunately not one that you can control in Revit.
