I've been trying to get material takeoffs for the generic models i've either loaded or created but the schedule doesn't seem to populate! I loaded some Openings so that i could get masonry openings for the walls while the window schedule is being finalized, but i can't seem to produce a schedule of them showing areas or anything. Can anyone help?

Before something will show up in a material takeoff, it has to have a material applied to it.
I am assuming that a generic opening is just a void that cuts a wall? If this is the case you won't be able to schedule the voids in a material takeoff, but if they are cutting the wall , the material takeoff for the wall will calculate the surface area minus the opening.
If you had a solid in the opening (glass) you could get the area of the glass and use that.

Ah ok! That explains it. Thanks for the info. I'll use the 'glass' approach.
