my company got a navis model from our client and wants us to mass it in revit. Has anyone done this or have any ideal where to start. i have tried to export it as an image but the pixs are not to clear.

My initial thoughts on this mirrored Roberts, but there may be a few options worth trying:
As you say creating an image file would probably be your only option and then doing an outline trace. I thought in Navis that you could change the output resolution of the image file and whether 16 or 32 bit.
Another option might be to do a screen capture using something like Snagit and adjusting the output resolution.
It's been a few years since I used Navisworks, in fact it was before Autodesk bought it over - there used to be a presentation module that would deliver high resolution rendered images from the 3d model - not sure if that is still a capability.
If you do succeed in getting a usable image file from Navisworks then try taking it into Adobe Illustrator - this product has an option to do an auto trace and the file can be saved as a DWG.
What you will end up with is several views of each model which can be a real pain to rebuild as a 3d model - inventor labs has an add on for Inventor that will take the views and enable you to create a 3d model and then export to Revit.
You should be able to get hold of trial copies of the above software to enable you to do this.
