Ceiling grid question

In my transformation from ACA to Revit I am trying to achieve a reflected ceiling plan that graphically shows walls that stop AT the ceiling and don't penetrate. My walls are 10' but when I place my ceiling at 10' Revit allows me to add a single ceiling across the entire fit-up but it subdivides the ceiling for each room. How do you show a monolithic ceiling with dashed walls below?

Yes...........it still subdivides each room. There has to be a setting or something that tells Revit to ignore walls that don't penetrate the ceiling

To get the walls dashed is a bit tricky due to the view range controls. You can use the linework tool to change the lines to dashed, but that will most likely be too much work. Another option would be to halftone the walls by setting the view range's cut plane to 10' and then setting the plan with the walls as an underlay in the view's properties.

Your walls are actually penetrating the view range's cut plane which is typically 7' 6" and looking up for ceiling plans. This is why they are showing in your ceiling plan so Revit can't ignore them.

I would just select all the walls that do NOT penetrate the ceiling, and override the graphics by element in that view. You can change the walls to transparent, and change the cut line type to whatever weight and line style you wish.

The simple way is to manually sketch the ceiling using your exterior walls.

Sketch your ceiling using your exterior walls as the boundary, so the ceiling will go across all the interior wall. if you walls go to 10', change your cut plane to 10' as well, so the cut place goes right over the top of the walls. then, underlay the floor plan, so the interior walls show up as gray, and you go into the vsibility graphics, and change those walls to show up as dashed, with your ceiling over the walls. it should look something similar to the example I have posted here.
