On my elevations I have my surface pattern the way I want it, but it comes out to dark when printed. I looked at the O.R. and can only select the color, pattern or visible. Is there somewhere else I can change this? Thanks

Couldn't you change the color to a lighter gray, so that it prints as intended? (Perhaps you have already done this)

In our office, we have this issue where the small format HP printers don't handle gray scale very well... A hatch might be a 50% Sand pattern, and looks great on the screen. When printed on 11x17 paper, it comes out as a black sand pattern.

However, if we print to PDF first, and then print from Adobe Acrobat, the pattern comes out gray.

To make matters even more complicated, that same 50% gray pattern prints fine, when we output to the large format OCE plotter. Still trying to get to the bottom of this one.

Thanks for the insight. I will try that out. Only worried about the large format.
