In the door family, what wall thickness are you using? Sometimes if a door or window family is constructed in a default 6" thick wall and then inserted into a thicker wall such as a brick veneer wall...the frame doesn't flex with the thicker wall and remains hidden inside the wall. So the first thing I would check is to make sure the frame is flexing with a thicker wall in the family.
