Upon returning to work from vacation, our project is displaying ALL the project walls in a modified hidden line view. The sides appear in a wire frame with only the edges or the occasional hidden line face and this visibility issue is taking place ONLY in 3D views, new and previously created views. I have gone through the typical troubleshooting, such as visibility, phasing, overrides, hidden elements, worksets, etc. and have found no solutions.

Has anyone encountered this or seen a solution? Of course today I was requested to produce some renderings to issue to our client. Feel free to review attached image, your input is appreciated.

Its a known display issue. Unfortunately, the only thing you can do is delete the view and recreate from the default 3D view... If theyre like that from the beginning..... ut oh?

This problem used to happen before I updated Revit with the web update 2. After that, I think this problem was solved.

That said, make sure you are using the latest update.

Thanks for the input - I reviewed both suggestions,

All team members are working from WU #3. However, the walls do appear when rendered, but, new 3D views have the same problem and all new walls created also have the same problem.

If you have at least 1 save 3D view that doesn't have the same problem, you will have to create new 3D views by duplicating it and start from that view.

Hopefully you have one...

have seen this problem solved also by saving and closing the project then reopening it...if that worth anything

I have reviewed your suggestions and am still unable to resolve the issues with the walls. It appears it is only affecting the system family walls and no other types, such as in-place families.

Unfortunately, there are no 3D views that remain unaffected. All new views are affected by the same problem.

I also attempted to transfer project standards from recent projects and templates that are not receiving this visibility issue. Auditing and creating a new Central has also failed to resolve the issue, but feel free to make any additional suggestions that I haven't considered, although I think it is time to place a service call . . .

This bug has now infected another project. I am not sure about how to fix the files, but would you recommend reinstalling Revit 2009 with all the updates?

Is your OpenGL option on or off? If it is off, try turning on and if it is on, try turnig off. Usually, turning it off solve most of the graphical problems. If that doesn't work, try downloading the latest drivers for your graphic card. Try this before reinstalling. Also if you have a second computer, see if it happens too.

Did anyone ever figure the fix for this? It is happening to me now. Thanks.

PROBLEM/BUG:
3D hidden/shaded views showing object lines like wireframe view.

POSSIBLE CAUSE:
This is probably caused by the ViewCube tool and corrupts the 3D view.

SOLUTION:
1. make sure OpenGL hardware acceleration is turned off (a checkbox under options>graphics>video card capabiliites)
2. go to the Viewcube on a 3D view, click on a preset view from the Viewcube (eg. isometric). You might have to do this a couple times for Revit to refresh this view.
3. The best way to refresh the view is to right-click on the View Cube, select "Orient to a Direction" on the menu, and select an isometric view. Typically the problem will go away for all the 3D views from now on.
4. If all else fails, then turn off the Viewcube and recreate the 3D view.

Im not sure towards the updates and all but you don't have to delete your view. Just click the "Home" button near your view cube and it will fix the problem (at the moment)
