Current layer changing automatically?

Running AutoCAD 2009. While working, the current layer will change from any layer I am currently on to one specific created layer (A-Anno-Dims). Typically happens when freezing layers using the drop-down menu.

Any ideas why the current layer would change? I am not using the tool palette when this happens and no LISP routines were running while this occurred.

Do you know exactly when it's changing, or do you just notice it at some point? If the latter, the code in the following link may help you track down what is doing it. You can use this lisp routine to "track" the sysvar CLAYER. http://cadpanacea.com/node/53

I am using code that forces all my dimensions to be placed on a specific layer.
Do you have something similar? I often notice that the layer doesn't change
back to zero after placing a dimension. It works well when I am paying attention.
